Trudy Tran

June 8, 2026:  Trudy Tran is a Vietnamese American multidisciplinary artist based in Atlanta. Growing up in Georgia, Tran has always had a love for art. She always found herself doodling, even on her homework. Her artistic entrepreneurial streak emerged in middle school when she sold portraits to her classmates. Tran put her artwork to the side during her high school years to focus on her academics. But, the siren song of artwork called to her when she attended college.”

During her freshman second semester, Trudy decided to study Fine Arts against the wishes of her parents. They wanted her to go into the healthcare field. Tran chose art not only because of her love for the subject, but because it offered the opportunity for self-employment as well as self-expression. Tran received a bachelor’s degree in fine arts from Kennesaw State University. Tran’s parents were initially resistant to her career choice. They became more supportive once she demonstrated financial success in her full-time art career which began in 2024.

As a freelance artist, Trudy considers herself a jack of all trades taking on all artistic tasks. In a recent interview with Voyage Atlanta, Tran said “There is no creative challenge that I would not take a shot at.” Rather than limiting herself to a single range of media, and subjects, The artist explores murals, oil painting, digital art, animation and more. Her subjects vary from people to plants, to animals to architecture. Tran’s work brings different ethnicities, cultures, identities, and stories to the forefront. Her work helps sometimes marginalized groups to feel seen, heard, and welcome.

Trudy has served major clients such as: MARTA, Synovus, AT&T, Greystar, Scholastic, Penguin Random House, Walmart, Rumble Boxing, Sam Flax, the City of Atlanta, the City of Clarkston, and others. She has been a featured artist in events such as Forward Warrior, Stacks Squares, and the Crossroads Mural Festival. Tran was selected by the Atlanta Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs to be one of the World Cup muralists. Trudy’s murals can be found in the states of Oklahoma, Tennessee, Florida, Wisconsin, and California.
